(8) <strong>The</strong> model for estimating education needs analyses <strong>the</strong> labour market <strong>and</strong> in <strong>the</strong><br />
medium-term future estimates <strong>the</strong> possibility <strong>of</strong> finding suitable employment for graduates<br />
that are entering <strong>the</strong> labour market. <strong>The</strong> model estimates <strong>the</strong> dem<strong>and</strong> for work in previously<br />
defined pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>and</strong> educational groups in <strong>the</strong> next five years <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> size <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> dem<strong>and</strong><br />
for work in educational groups confronted with <strong>the</strong> influx <strong>of</strong> graduates in <strong>the</strong> same period.<br />
<strong>The</strong> model anticipates <strong>the</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>r development <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> employment categories made up <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>IT</strong>/<strong>ICT</strong> specialists with <strong>the</strong> codes KZAM 213 <strong>and</strong> 312.<br />
<strong>The</strong> estimated total number <strong>of</strong> <strong>IT</strong>/<strong>ICT</strong> specialists between 2005 <strong>and</strong> 2010 will increase with<br />
an average growth rate <strong>of</strong> 4.6% annually. <strong>The</strong> model predicts approx. 22,000 new jobs for<br />
<strong>IT</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in this period.<br />
Employees from <strong>the</strong> Institute for Fur<strong>the</strong>r Education provided an estimate <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong><br />
university graduates in <strong>the</strong> branches <strong>of</strong> Informatics <strong>and</strong> Computer Technology. It amounted to<br />
about 18,000 new university-educated graduates in <strong>the</strong> years 2006 to 2010.<br />
From this it can be concluded that university-educated specialists will have a good chance to<br />
obtain employment in <strong>the</strong> sector, it can be expected that <strong>the</strong>y will <strong>of</strong>ten replace <strong>the</strong> highschool<br />
graduates that are currently working in <strong>the</strong> branch. <strong>The</strong> chances <strong>of</strong> high schooleducated<br />
<strong>IT</strong>/<strong>ICT</strong> technicians to obtain employment in <strong>the</strong> branch will be apparently lower in<br />
<strong>the</strong> future.<br />
