international company in which <strong>the</strong> respondent is or was working, a pr<strong>of</strong>essional stay outside<br />
company studies abroad, permanent employment in <strong>the</strong> field for ano<strong>the</strong>r company, language<br />
stays outside <strong>of</strong> company studies or a student employment residency.<br />
<strong>The</strong> most frequent places for obtaining foreign experience were <strong>the</strong> United States, Great<br />
Britain, Germany <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r European Union countries.<br />
In relation to language skills English clearly dominates among <strong>IT</strong>/<strong>ICT</strong> workers. More than<br />
91% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> IC/<strong>ICT</strong> employees stated, in a subjective appraisal, that <strong>the</strong>y use it ei<strong>the</strong>r fluently<br />
or actively. <strong>The</strong> knowledge <strong>of</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r foreign languages is considerably lower.<br />
<strong>The</strong> knowledge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> English language noticeably influences <strong>the</strong> selection <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
destination countries for potential migration - <strong>The</strong> first four places are Great Britain, Irel<strong>and</strong>,<br />
<strong>the</strong> USA <strong>and</strong> Canada or Australia <strong>and</strong> New Zeal<strong>and</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> working contacts with colleagues in o<strong>the</strong>r countries also partially correspond with this.<br />
Almost 60% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> surveyed <strong>IT</strong>/<strong>ICT</strong> employees specified contacts with colleagues abroad.<br />
<strong>The</strong>y were most <strong>of</strong>ten working contacts with colleagues from Great Britain, <strong>the</strong> USA or<br />
Canada <strong>and</strong> from o<strong>the</strong>r European countries. Germany was also in a leading position in this<br />
regard. <strong>The</strong>se facts are testimony to <strong>the</strong> significant manifestation <strong>of</strong> globalisation in <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>IT</strong>/<strong>ICT</strong> field.<br />
