[Moving-to-Work 2011-20<strong>12</strong> Annual <strong>Plan</strong>]<br />
San Juan Square III: located in the 2200 block of S. Calaveras will be a new mixedincome<br />
rental housing development targeted for families. The development will be<br />
comprised of 139 one, two, three and four bedroom units and will serve families of<br />
various income levels to include the following:<br />
35% (49 units) Public Housing- residents with incomes at 30% of the area‟s<br />
median income or less<br />
10% (14 units) Affordable - residents with incomes at 50% of median income or<br />
less<br />
51% (70 units) Affordable - residents with incomes at 60% of the area‟s median<br />
income or less<br />
4% (6 units) Market Rate - no income restrictions<br />
San Juan Square III is the final phase of the three phased San Juan Homes<br />
Revitalization Project. The project is currently in the pre-development stage and<br />
continues to actively seek funding opportunities for its build out.<br />
The Mirabella: located at 1955 Bandera Road is a new construction senior<br />
development sitting on 8.6 acres. The development is comprised of 172 units of which<br />
100% are for tenants that are 55 years of age or older with incomes at 30%, 50% and<br />
60% of the area‟s median income or below. The senior development will consist of four<br />
residential buildings to include a Clubhouse with activity rooms, swimming pool and<br />
horseshoe pit, fitness center, computer center with internet and an onsite laundry<br />
centers. The development‟s unit mix includes 1 and 2 bedroom units complete with fully<br />
equipped kitchens, washer & dryer connections and energy efficient appliances. The<br />
Mirabella will also host activities and social events for its residents.<br />
The project will be the first multifamily complex in San Antonio to receive a Build San<br />
Antonio Green Level 1 Certification. The BSAG Level 1 Certification is achieved when<br />
the Energy Star Home Certification is 15% more energy efficient than the current City of<br />
San Antonio Code requirement. The project has also qualified for Solar Rebates due to<br />
the Solar Paneled Water Heating System being installed in each of the buildings. The<br />
new development has garnered widespread community support because of the<br />
reinvestment it has spurred along the Bandera Road business corridor. It is currently<br />
61% construction complete with a target completion date of May 2011.<br />
4. Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program<br />
SAHA will enter its second year of implementing MTW activities designed to improve<br />
efficiencies, reduce administrative cost of operating the HCV program, and advance<br />
participants‟ welfare by providing access to case management, education, and<br />
employment opportunities. Additionally, SAHA remains committed to expanding<br />
