1. Improved our clients’ quality of life<br />

Received <strong>HUD</strong> approval for a new Moving to Work plan<br />
Employed 115 youth through new Summer Youth Employment Program<br />
Increased Resident Council participation from 15 to 35 communities<br />
Issued 32 college scholarships worth $48,000 through EIF program, and 89<br />
perfect attendance awards worth $4000<br />

Partnered with the Texas Construction Career Academy, which 16 Public<br />
Housing residents graduated, receiving certifications increasing employment<br />
opportunities<br />
Partnership with the City of San Antonio‟s local cable company establishing<br />
the Time Warner Cable Installer Program offering 6 residents on the job<br />
training, and employment<br />
Partnership with the City of San Antonio‟s local community college<br />
establishing the Gateway to College Program, in which <strong>12</strong> Public Housing<br />
youth are currently enrolled<br />
2. Preserved and expanded affordable housing<br />

Obligated nearly $20 million in Recovery Act stimulus funds for capital<br />
improvement projects affecting 2,634 housing units at 37 family and elderly<br />
communities, and created or retained 196 jobs<br />
Constructed over 835 new housing units at three affordable mixed-mixed<br />
communities: San Juan Square II, HemisView Village, Sutton Oaks and<br />
Artisan at Creekside<br />
In partnership with the City of San Antonio, CPS Energy, and AACOG,<br />
weatherized 380 public housing and affordable housing units<br />
3. Enhanced service delivery and performance<br />
<br />

Achieved a high performer rating from the U.S. Department of Housing and<br />
Urban Development for the Section 8 Management Program (SEMAP)<br />
In Public Housing, increased Public Housing Assessment Score (PHAS)<br />
score from 83% to 88%<br />
Received national recognition for outstanding performance in new<br />
construction design, internal development programs and resident services<br />
<br />
Completed the annual financial audit with very favorable results<br />
