DOCUMENT "A" Attached to ALT 31667'10 Original<br />

CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL<br />

(Regulations 90-80 under <strong>the</strong> Clean Water Act Chapter C-6.1, Act of New Brunswick 1989)<br />

( 18 ) that <strong>the</strong> equipment operating adjacent to and/or reaching into a waterbody must be mechanically<br />

sound, not leaking fuel or hydraulic fluid and shall be pressure washed free of petroleum<br />

products and dirt;<br />

( 19 ) that all materials and equipment used to carryout <strong>the</strong>se undertakings shall be stored and<br />

operated/parked in a manner that minimizes <strong>the</strong> chances of any deleterious substances (e.g.<br />

petroleum products, silt, etc.) entering a waterbody;<br />

( 20 ) that all spoil material generated during <strong>the</strong>se undertakings shall be trucked off-site and disposed<br />

of at an approved disposal facility;<br />

( 21 ) that each day that work has been per<strong>for</strong>med, temporary siltation prevention measures shall be in<br />

place when <strong>the</strong> permittee's or <strong>the</strong>ir agent's personnel leave a jobsite where erodible soil is<br />

exposed, whenever siltation control works have failed or are not functioning properly, no fur<strong>the</strong>r<br />

work shall take place until <strong>the</strong> problem is corrected;<br />

( 22 ) that prior approval be obtained from <strong>the</strong> New Brunswick Department of <strong>the</strong> Environment be<strong>for</strong>e<br />

<strong>the</strong> water level in a storage reservoir or headpond is lowered below <strong>the</strong> normal operating range<br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> June 1st through September 30th, low risk, construction period;<br />

( 23 ) that prior approval be obtained from <strong>the</strong> New Brunswick Department of <strong>the</strong> Environment be<strong>for</strong>e<br />

undertaking any repairs to a water level control structure that require a reduction in <strong>the</strong><br />

downstream maintenance flow, below <strong>the</strong> current minimum discharge that has been agreed to by<br />

Fisheries and Oceans Canada or voluntarily adopted;<br />
