Working with the machine<br />

7.6.6 Mechanically decouple <strong>and</strong> couple the traction drive<br />

Warning !<br />

Machine is not stopped after decoupling the drive<br />

mechanisms<br />

• Can result in death or severe injuries.<br />

• Secure the machine against rolling off. Support the boom on<br />

the ground <strong>and</strong> place dry wedges underneath it.<br />

Trasmital drive mechanism<br />

Decoupling:<br />

• Free the wheel from the base by lifting it.<br />

• Using a hexagon socket screw key, turn the bolting device in the direction<br />

of the arrow as far as it will go.<br />

Coupling:<br />

• Free the wheel from the base by lifting it.<br />

• Using a hexagon socket screw key, turn the bolting device in the direction<br />

opposite the arrow. Slowly turn the wheel while doing so. As soon<br />

as resistance is felt, the gearwheels catch in the transmission, <strong>and</strong> you<br />

can now easily screw in the bolting device as far as it will go (approx. 6<br />

rotations)<br />

Reggiana drive mechanism<br />

Decoupling:<br />

• Free the wheel from the base by lifting it.<br />

• Release the screws <strong>and</strong> remove the top plate.<br />

• Turn the top plate inwards <strong>and</strong> mount the screw.<br />

Coupling:<br />

• Free the wheel from the base by lifting it.<br />

• Release the screw <strong>and</strong> remove the top plate.<br />

• Turn the top plate outwards <strong>and</strong> mount the screw. When doing so, turn<br />

the wheel slowly so that the teeth can grip in.<br />
