Workshop leaders include people from families with long traditions of crafts (e.g. weaving) as well as experienced artists who have settled in the commune of Bodzentyn. funding The project was funded by the town and commune of Bodzentyn and the regional operational programme Regional Economy and Tourism Promotion. Project partners included Bodzentyn Commune and Around Bald Mountain Local Action Group. People, a good idea and consistency are key. This is confirmed by the fact that even more interesting destinations have applied to join our festival this year. The festival has became a tool for engaging the community. The weather is Photo: Jacek Poprawiak Odnowica Rural Revival Association Established in 2004 at the heart of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains in the buffer zone of the Świętokrzyski National Park (Bodzentyn Commune), Odnowica brings together people from different backgrounds. The Association is dedicated to promoting the revival of rural areas on the path to sustainable development through culture and arts, and through the education of children and young people using modern curricula. The Association organises concerts, performances, exhibitions and workshops. Its education and promotion efforts have earned it numerous awards. Odnowica’s flagship projects include the Festival of Wandering, Dawid Rubinowicz, Wedding Revisited, The Power of Striped Cloth: Weaving in the Świętokrzyskie Region. 50 Where is Pinocchio towns with no local theatres. Our goal was to present performances to audiences with limited theatre and cultural opportunities. We produced the piece Where is Pinocchio for a wide audience, both children and adults. To enhance the impact of the project, we planned to hold a series of workshops in each town in order to enable local children and youth to meet the artists in the context of the show they had seen the previous day. In the summer of 2011, as part of Theatre Summer, the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute, in collaboration with the National Centre for Culture (Cultural Centre+ Programme), completed the project Where is Pinocchio, which included family performances in a circus big top as well as a programme of workshops. The project was presented in Warsaw and toured 17 towns throughout Poland. We played 20 performances that attracted a total audience of 2000, and ran 100 hours of workshops for about 2500 participants. F or four years now, the Theatre Institute has run the Theatre Summer programme. Each year, the institute mobilises ever more Polish theatres to educate young people in the summertime. We wanted to reach smaller the project Where is Pinocchio or Revelries, Frolics and DIY is an artistic, social and educational event, an addition to the Theatre Summer programme. For two months a group of actors and circus artists travelled across Poland from east to west with a big top.
