Culture animators run several-day-long
workshops and training programmes (in
filmmaking, photography, theatre, animated
film, dance, visual arts, song, storytelling,
ethnography, project management, local
assessment and research into community
needs, development strategy), inspiring local
leaders and staff of cultural institutions to
seek operation methods. They spur the creation
of new active groups that want to work
for the benefit of their communities. Flying
Culture Animators pass on their knowledge
in an interesting, engaging way. They can
quickly teach specific skills and inspire students
to continue work on their own.

Between 2010 and 2011, the activities of
Flying Culture Animators were funded by the
The work of a culture animator involves not only
contacts with other people, inspiring them, passing on
knowledge and supporting their daily community work
but also continuous self-improvement. Good culture
animators learn new skills and treat workshops and
projects on a case-by-case basis. They also find the time to
examine and evaluate their own work.

challenges
When setting up the network of Flying Culture
Animators, we wanted its members to
feel they are a team who can share their experiences
and support each other in times of
need. This is why we decided to hold internal
workshops and supervisions. Our animators
attend a quarterly meeting with an experienced
trainer to discuss their work and the
challenges they face, and just to be together.

Association of Creative
Initiatives “ę”
We have been running cultural and social
projects throughout Poland since 2002.
We organise trainings, award grants and
publish books. We develop and promote
new operating models in the cultural
field. We are faithful to the values we
profess: authenticity, high quality and
satisfaction from our efforts. The association
boasts a network of culture animators
throughout Poland, has stable
partners as well as the experience and
skills which enable us to experiment, set
new trends and implement daring projects.
We pursue our goals within the following
three programme lines: Young
Artists Cooperative, Project Citizen and
Open Cultural Sector.
