One of the challenges we faced while executing
this kind of project was the provision
of equipment – cameras, camcorders and
computers. The rules of the grant competition
prohibited purchase of fixed assets, even
cheap equipment. We also couldn’t find any
simple photo cameras for rent – renting reflex
cameras would be too expensive considering
necessary deposits and possible costs
of camera replacement. We did not want to
limit our workshop offer to those who had
their own cameras, as the project would then
lose its aspect of creating equal opportunities.
Finally, we rented the computer room at
the Cultural Centre, and participants used either
their own equipment or the equipment
borrowed from us or from workshop leaders.
Artists who do
interesting things and
who share their knowledge
and skills with others are
a great asset. Take good

The mission of the foundation is to
foster the development of equal, diverse
and tolerant society. Our primary focus
is on social and cultural initiatives. We
subscribe to the idea of art as a tool
for social change. Our initiatives have
included artistic, psychological and antidiscrimination
workshops at Gdańsk
City Gallery as part of Iwona Zając’s
Ideal.Lab project and Polish-British
study tours run by the British Council
and Gdańsk 2016 as part of the Active
Citizens project. We are currently promoting
the idea of volunteering among
people aged 50 and over through Volunteering
