Abstract This report presents the application of environmental valuation methods and, where possible, cost-benefit analysis to the case of peri-urban land use planning. Benefit transfer methods are used to estimate the value of green space, carbon storage, changes in forest area and other impacts of changing policy in the peri-urban fringe of cities in different case studies around Europe.
