Fair value
The fair values of cash and cash equivalents, current accounts and notes receivable, and liquid securities are approximately
equal to their value as disclosed in the consolidated financial statements.
The fair value of long-term receivables included in other non-current assets approximates the amounts disclosed in the
consolidated financial statements as a result of discounting using estimated market interest rates for similar financing
arrangements. The fair value of long-term debt differs from the amount disclosed in the consolidated financial statements.
The estimated fair value of long-term debt as of December 31, 2005 and 2004 was $5,081 million and $3,124 million,
respectively, as a result of discounting using estimated market interest rates for similar financing arrangements.
These amounts include all future cash outflows associated with the long-term debt repayments, including the current
portion, and interest.
