8.10 A month after their release, 23 <strong>young</strong> people were still living in the same accommodation to<br />

which they were released. Six <strong>young</strong> people were back in custody <strong>and</strong> one was ‘on the run’,<br />

<strong>and</strong> this included four who had been living with family <strong>and</strong> three looked after <strong>children</strong> who had<br />

been released to supported housing (one <strong>of</strong> these <strong>young</strong> people had been arrested at the<br />

gate). Disappointingly in<strong>for</strong>mation was not received on where the two <strong>young</strong> people released<br />

without accommodation were living a month later.<br />

ETE<br />

8.11 In the 41 questionnaires returned, case supervisors reported that 13 <strong>young</strong> people (32%) had<br />

a pre-arranged ETE placement <strong>for</strong> when they left custody. This comprised:<br />

four who were attending training (<strong>for</strong> example, in construction or web design)<br />

one who would receive education in his supported housing<br />

six who were starting courses at college or with another education provider<br />
