Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2)<br />

– Coaching<br />
This is a nationally recognised Sports & Recreation<br />
Apprenticeship, specifically designed to give you<br />
the right combination of practical and theoretical<br />
knowledge and skills to develop within the<br />
industry. This Apprenticeship is aimed at students<br />
working in Coaching and aims to provide you<br />
with greater career opportunities in this area.<br />
The programme encompasses an NVQ (Level 2)<br />
Coaching, Teaching & Instructing, BTEC Award<br />
(Level 2) in Employment Awareness in Active<br />
Leisure & Learning and a BTEC First Diploma<br />
(Level 2) in Sport.<br />
Entry Requirements<br />
You need GCSEs ranging from grades C to F and experience of<br />
coaching and instructing in an assistant role. You also need to be<br />
working in a suitable work placement by the start of the course.<br />
Course Expenses<br />
Optional sports kit - £105.<br />
Trips/Residentials<br />
Trips include visits to the fire and police stations and other<br />
relevant sites, as well visits to a range of destinations for outdoor<br />
activities including raft building, map reading and rope work.<br />
Career Prospects/Progression<br />
If you successfully complete this qualification, you can apply<br />
for a wide range of relevant public sector and Armed Forces<br />
roles, although you may need additional training for specific<br />
occupations such as a Paramedic. Alternatively, you can progress<br />
to a Level 3 qualification.<br />
