The solution<br />
DFS – the duty free shops – is an established leader among<br />
luxury retailers catering to the international traveling public.<br />
It continues to be an innovative retailer, expanding into offairport<br />
duty free stores and large downtown gallerias and<br />
it has grown to become the world’s largest and most progressive<br />
travel retailer.<br />
The challenge<br />
In order to meet the diverse expectations of today’s traveler,<br />
DFS sources products from some of the world’s leading<br />
brands. It delivers high fashion and other goods that cater<br />
to travel and luxury consumers across the world. With<br />
more than 40 sourcing countries and over 2000 suppliers,<br />
DFS is present with stores and gallerias in 14 countries.<br />
The challenge facing the global DFS logistics team is that<br />
they must ensure the goods, whether fashion from Italy<br />
or apparel from Peru, are delivered on time to the global<br />
markets. Key factors to success include high security<br />
and a high service level, as well as IT integration and seamless<br />
communication.<br />

arranged via air or ocean, are based on the needs of<br />
