Mr Dyer discovered who the man was upon reading a newspaper article yesterday.
Lloyd McIntosh was sent to Lake Alice Mental Hospital in 1989 when he was deemed unfit to answer a charge of
raping a six-year-old girl.
He was freed in 1993 when a law change meant he was no longer considered mentally ill.
McIntosh's CV, obtained by the Dominion Post newspaper yesterday, says he worked at the mental hospital, not that
he was a patient.
The CV refers only to his having "recently completed serving time" and ignores the fact he is a repeat child rapist,
and was jailed for a sex attack on an intellectually handicapped woman, says the newspaper.
It lists his experience at the hospital in 1988 as a "voluntary carer" and lists his duties as "assisting elderly residents
with daily household chores and planning activities".
Mr Dyer told the newspaper that McIntosh walked into the yard on Wednesday, seeking a job as a car groomer.
He described himself as a hard worker and left his CV with the businessman.
All the time he was being watched by three people from a nearby car.
According to McIntosh's 10-year extended supervision order, he must be accompanied by two minders in public
because of the risk of his reoffending.
Mr Dyer said he was furious McIntosh had sought a job in an area full of children.
"There's a kindergarten straight across the road, a school less than 250 metres away."
He said it was outrageous McIntosh's history was glossed over.
"His CV should have those details. It's misleading, it's dishonest, it's a disgrace. He's a bloody paedophile."
A covering letter says he is on probation, must have no contact with children under 16 and must have support staff
with him at all times "for the short time".
The agency supervising McIntosh, the name of which is suppressed, is contractually obliged by Corrections to help
him develop life skills, including finding employment

Long Island - Several spectators cheered, cried and embraced each other in a Central Islip courtroom Friday when a
Valley Stream man was convicted of federal child pornography charges.
Bruce Wernick, 47, a computer consultant, was found guilty of downloading, storing and distributing hundreds of
photos and videos depicting children being sexually abused.
He also was convicted of using the Internet to persuade underage boys to meet for sex.
"We are very gratified by the jury's verdict," prosecutor Lara Treinis Gatz said afterward.
