Frontiers of <strong>the</strong> Roman Empire – Ripa Pannonica in Hungary (RPH) Nomination statement<br />
• The RPH Management and Development Trust maintains contact with <strong>the</strong> Secretariat of <strong>the</strong><br />
Hungarian World Heritage Commission and <strong>the</strong> Intergovernmental Committee of Frontiers of <strong>the</strong><br />
Roman Empire World Heritage (United Kingdom and Germany) and <strong>the</strong> international management<br />
organizations for sites from <strong>the</strong> Frontiers of <strong>the</strong> Roman Empire that are on <strong>the</strong> World Heritage<br />
tentative list, as well as with <strong>the</strong> Bratislava Group and <strong>the</strong> Hungarian government commissioner<br />
responsible for <strong>the</strong> <strong>Danube</strong> Strategy.<br />
• The RPH Management and Development Trust informs <strong>the</strong> public, <strong>the</strong> press, <strong>the</strong> media and civic<br />
organizations about <strong>the</strong> value and significance of <strong>the</strong> sites, <strong>the</strong> laws and obligations related to <strong>the</strong>m,<br />
as well as <strong>the</strong> activities that are underway or that are planned.<br />
• The RPH Management and Development Trust convenes <strong>the</strong> RPH Forum for Reconciliation<br />
on an annual basis at <strong>the</strong> beginning of <strong>the</strong> calendar year, and reports to <strong>the</strong> RPH individual site<br />
management organizations about work that has been completed and planned future tasks.<br />
• The RPH Management and Development Trust prepares a financial and performance report at <strong>the</strong><br />
end of <strong>the</strong> calendar year for <strong>the</strong> Minister of National Resources.<br />

RPH Management and Development Board<br />
• The Management and Development Board aids in <strong>the</strong> work of <strong>the</strong> director of <strong>the</strong> RPH Management<br />
and Development Trust.<br />
• The members of <strong>the</strong> Management and Development Board are distinguished experts in town<br />
development, economics, archaeology and historic preservation who perform <strong>the</strong>ir duties on <strong>the</strong><br />
basis of a mandate from <strong>the</strong> minister responsible for culture.<br />
• The Management and Development Board reports on <strong>the</strong> long-term prospects for <strong>the</strong> RPH.<br />
• The Management and Development Board reviews <strong>the</strong> RPH Management Plan annually, and<br />
provides recommendations for necessary modifications.<br />
• The Management and Development Board provides recommendations for <strong>the</strong> distribution and<br />
utilization of <strong>the</strong> available financial assistance resources.<br />
• The Management and Development Board provides its opinion on <strong>the</strong> annual work schedule of <strong>the</strong><br />
RPH Management and Development Trust.<br />
Members: archaeologists, heritage preservationists, nature conservationists, and town engineers (5 members)<br />
RPH Supervisory and Operational Office (Non-profit Company)<br />
• The RPH Supervisory and Operational Office is created by <strong>the</strong> RPH Management and<br />
Development Trust.<br />
• The single responsible leader of <strong>the</strong> Office is <strong>the</strong> office manager.<br />
• The main tasks of <strong>the</strong> Office are keeping records, monitoring, professional reporting,<br />
coordination, making recommendations and <strong>the</strong> preparation and implementation of decisions.<br />
