"Each team met with <strong>the</strong>ir client to determ<strong>in</strong>e <strong>the</strong> problem areas, def<strong>in</strong>e <strong>the</strong> research objectives,constructs and measurements, and to develop a questionnaire."The questionnaires were completed electronically and manually to a convenience sample of bothorganization supporters, as well as Staten Island Chamber of Commerce members who agreed toparticipate. The student's data were analyzed via SPSS, a statistical software application, and <strong>the</strong>n crafted<strong>in</strong>to a f<strong>in</strong>al report and PowerPo<strong>in</strong>t presentation.Each team was able to offer new and surpris<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>sights to each organization from <strong>the</strong>ir support base as wellas Chamber members. Each provided real-world suggestions for cultivat<strong>in</strong>g future donor/supporter<strong>in</strong>volvement and market expansion potential.Past research projects from <strong>CSI</strong> market<strong>in</strong>g research students have <strong>in</strong>cluded a study for a St. John'sUniversity's cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g education program, for SCORE, Staten Island branch, <strong>the</strong> American Cancer Society,Staten Island Division, and COAHSI, Council on <strong>the</strong> Arts and Humanities for Staten Island."I learned a lot about how we can reach more people on Staten Island and what our general audience isth<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g. The teams of students you selected to work on this report were fantastic to work with. I alsolearned from <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r teams' remarks dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ir presentation," said Aurelia.Ms. Fenley was grateful for allow<strong>in</strong>g Sundog to be part of <strong>the</strong> program.I th<strong>in</strong>k it was a completely w<strong>in</strong>-w<strong>in</strong> situation, with everyone benefit<strong>in</strong>g," said Professor Thomas Tellefsen,chairman of <strong>the</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess department at <strong>CSI</strong>. Ihave learned so much <strong>in</strong> this quick semester. This class gave me an <strong>in</strong>sider look <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> real bus<strong>in</strong>ess world– late nights and very early morn<strong>in</strong>gs," Drouillard said.
