His most recent stop was as head coach at CUNY rival City Tech from 2007-2009."Coach Rebay has <strong>the</strong> perfect coach<strong>in</strong>g and play<strong>in</strong>g background to be a successful soccer coach at <strong>the</strong>College of Staten Island," said <strong>CSI</strong> athletic director Vernon Mummert. "His network of recruit<strong>in</strong>g contacts andhis coach<strong>in</strong>g experience <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> competitive CUNY Athletic Conference will allow <strong>CSI</strong> to hit <strong>the</strong> ground runn<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong> his first year. With a solid nucleus of return<strong>in</strong>g players and a solid freshmen recruit<strong>in</strong>g class, <strong>CSI</strong> expectsto contend for a CUNY soccer championship <strong>in</strong> 2011."A junior division member of <strong>the</strong> Independiente De Avellaneda <strong>in</strong> Argent<strong>in</strong>a from 1979-86, Rebay was amember of Argent<strong>in</strong>a's U-17 national team dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> 1982-83 season, and later played professionally forUniversitario De Sucre <strong>in</strong> Bolivia's top pro league. He also played for <strong>the</strong> San Diego Nomads <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> WesternSoccer League.Page 97 of 157
