Hunter's Dubois Selected as CUNYAC/Con Edison Men's BasketballPlayer of the Week; Staten Island's Magliore Named Top RookieCUNYAC/Con Edison Basketball Weekly Award Winners 1-3-11FLUSHING, N.Y. - The City University of New York Athletic Conference and Con Edison announced its weekly men'sbasketball award winners Monday, and Hunter College senior forward, Maxwell Dubois was named Player of theWeek following a MVP performance at Albright's (Pa.) Reading Crowne Plaza New Year's Tournament. Meanwhile,College of Staten Island freshman Bloochy Magliore put on a sensational shooting display at his school'sTournament of Heroes, and was selected as Rookie of the Week.CUNYAC/Con Edison Player of the WeekMaxwell Dubois, HunterSr. Forward, 6-foot-3Hollywood, FL/DillardDubois was named the Most Valuable Player of the Reading (Pa.) Crowne Plaza New Year's Tournament at Albrightafter lifting the Hawks to the tourney title. He poured in 25 points (10-for-16 FG; 3-for-5 3FG) in as many minutesplayed during an 82-75 opening-round victory against Susquehanna (Dec. 29), before registering a crucial doubledoublewith 10 points, 11 rebounds (four offensive) and five steals in the title game against the host Lions. On theseason, Dubois leads Hunter with a 14.5 points per game average that ranks 11th in the CUNYAC.CUNYAC/Con Edison Rookie of the WeekBloochy Magliore, Staten IslandFr. Guard, 6-foot-3Staten Island, NY/Susan E. Wagner HSMagliore was lights-out from the floor during Staten Island's Tournament of Heroes (Dec. 28-29), averaging 19.5points per contest on 15-for-24 shooting (.625) and a 9-for-13 (.692) effort beyond the 3-point arc to help the Dolphinsto the tournament finals. Against Dallas in the opening round, he scored a game-high 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting(5-for-8 3FG) to go with four rebounds and three assists. In the title game against Anderson (Ind.), Magliore poured in18 points on 7-for-10 shooting, including four of five makes from downtown.
