Goepel was treated for agraze wound of his head and Consentino for cuts inflicted by flying glass.A hospital spokesman said both were in stable condition.Both detectives were taken to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, where the one struck by thecar was treated for knee, hand and arm injuries, police said. Sources said the second detective was underobservation for chest pains.While police blocked off a portion of Forest Hill Road and redirected traffic away from the arrest scene, K-9units nearly up to their necks in snow also searched a wooded area behind CSI.The investigation caused traffic tie-ups throughout the neighborhood behind CSI that extended into theevening rush hour.According to a police spokesman, the investigation is ongoing and charges against Goepel and Consentinoare pending.Page 145 of 157
