Device Configuration Using Web Interface• Operational TxMode: Specifies the current operational mode of transmission over the ethernet interface. Thereare two types of transmission modes:— Half Duplex: Allows one-way transmission at a time; where only receive or transmit operation can beperformed at a time.— Full Duplex: Allows two-way transmission, where both receive and transmit operations can be performedsimultaneously.• Speed And TxMode: Specifies the speed and transmission mode of the Ethernet interface. The device will beconfigured in Auto mode, which means that the device negotiates with its switch or hub to automatically selectthe highest throughput option supported by both sides.3.4 Wireless InterfaceThe Wireless feature enables you to use the new technology called Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), that usesseveral antennas to transfer multiple data streams thus enabling more data to be transferred in the same period of time. Thewireless architecture is based on the cellular architecture where the systems are divided into cells, and each cell is called BasicService Set (BSS). Each BSS is controlled by a Base Station called Access Point, which controls associated stations. BSS isidentified by a Basic Service Set Identifier (BSSID), which corresponds to the Access Point’s MAC address. The Wireless LAN (WLAN) can be formed of a single cell or of many cells. Each of the WLAN has an entry point which is calledVirtual Access Point (VAP). A VAP is a logical entity that exists within a physical WLAN access device. Each VAP is assigned aunique BSSID and other relevant protocols that make these VAP an independent entity. Each of the VAP can be configuredindependently so that the user can provide unique authentication and security features. (Refer Virtual Access Point (VAP))3.4.1 Interface 1The Interface (Radio) of the device enables Wi-Fi Coverage. By default, Radio 1 is enabled in AP mode.3.4.1.1 PropertiesTo configure the wireless interface 1 properties, do the following:1. Navigate to CONFIGURATION > Wireless > Interface 1 > Properties. The Wireless Interface - 1 Properties screenappears.ORiNOCO® AP-800 and AP-8000 Installation and Management Guide 44
