St Francis Magazine Vol 8, No 2 | April 2012 leadership. As part of ongoing responsiveness, learning and growing, critical evaluation should follow any crisis intervention. We serve God and his purposes well when we increase our understanding of God’s use of affliction in the shaping of our lives and develop the capacity of our hearts to journey with others in those hard times. Are we willing to lay down our lives for others by creating such space and capacity in our hearts that will enable us to be with others in their adversity?
