THE SETUP MENUIO to I4 - Inputs/OutputI0: Input sensitivityMicSens (Microphone sensitivity) This allows furtheradjustment of microphone input sensitivity. Normal isbest for the majority of microphones. However, theLow and High settings can be useful for extra highoutput or extra low level microphones.LineSens (Line input sensitivity) Sets the Line inputsensitivity, or maximum input level from 0dBu to 24dButo match with your mixer. The factory default settingof 15dBu is an average output level from most mixers.Adjust this up or down when you see the input metersconsistently low or in the red.I1: Digital input gainDigital In Gain: Here the digital in signal can beattenuated to reduce clipping. 0dB is unity and is theideal setting.I2: Input source and clock settingsInput: Here you select the Analog or Digital input.Selecting Analog input will use the input selected viathe front panel (Mic or Line). Digital input will use therear S/PDIF connectors. The digital output is alwaysavailable regardless of this setting.ClockSrc: (Clock source) This sets the audio clockfrequency and source. If using the analog inputs, thisparameter is best set to Int(ernal) 44.1. If you are usingthe digital input you should set this to sync toExt(ernal) clock. If no valid clock signal is recieved viathe digital inputs, an error message will be shown.I3: Output and bypass modeOutput: Collapses all stereo output to mono if desired.BypMode: (Bypass mode) This sets howVoiceWorksPlus operates in Bypass. The Stage settingpreserves any EQ and Dynamics settings you have setand matches the level of the Dry voice. The Studio setting removes all effect processingincluding the EQ and Dynamics and outputs the leadsignal at full level to the output.I4: Input on/off controlsDry VoiceIn: Setting this to Off removes the dry leadaudio from the signal path in any presets that mix inyour dry voice. This is useful when usingVoiceWorksPlus on an auxilliary mixer send and want100% wet output.AuxIn: (Auxilliary input) Setting this to Off removesthe dry Aux Input audio from the signal path. Thisallows VoiceWorksPlus to produce only 100% weteffects when receiving an effects send from a mixingboard into the Aux Input. (Only available in analoginput mode if Mic Input is selected)Q0 to Q4 - EQ/CompressorThe EQ and compressor in VoiceWorksPlus are globalmeaning that all presets will be affected once either ofthe compressor or EQ has been activated. Be carefulwhen adjusting these parameters because feedback ismore likely.Q0: EQ and compressor assignmentDynAssign: (Dynmics assignment) This allows you toassign dynamic processing (compressor and gate) tothe lead voice, harmony/model voices, both lead andharmony/model voices or neither. Hint: assigning onlyto the lead voice with a medium compressor setting(threshold: -15dB, ratio:2:1) keeps the lead voice aconsistent volume but keeps harmony levels followingthe singers level. This gives control of harmony levelswith mic technique.EQAssign: (EQ assignment) This allows assignment ofthe three band EQ to the lead voice, harmony/modelvoices, both lead and harmony/model voices orneither.Q1: Compressor controlsThe compressor in VoiceWorksPlus has automaticmakeup gain to a maximum of +20dB.This means thatthe volume level of the signal will be increased for mostvolume levels of input with the compressor enabled.Threshold: Sets threshold at which the compressorbecomes active level from 0 to -60 dB. A moderatesetting of -6 to -15 works well.Ratio: Sets your compression ratio range from 1.12:1to 64:1. This sets how much level reduction occursonce the input signal reaches the threshold you haveset.Q2: EQ settingsVoiceWorksPlus has a flexible 3 band EQ withfrequency-adjustable high and low shelving bands and afully parametric band with Q, frequency and gaincontrols.LoShelf: Sets the knee frequency for the low frequencyshelving boost or cut. Frequency Range: 80Hz to16kHz39 39
