1. Introduction to Galileo WARNINGStarting a dive when the REPLACEBATTERY message is displayed can causethe computer to fail during the dive. Replacethe battery as soon as you notice thismessage.Low battery situations during a dive aredescribed in section 3.2.6.See Chapter 5 for information on how toreplace the battery.1.8 Screen configurationoptions (patent pending)In dive mode, Galileo displays data in oneof three pre-confi gured screen lay-outs:CLASSIC, LIGHT or FULL.- The CLASSIC confi guration is setas default and shows all standardinformation needed during the dive; thislay-out can be chosen with or without agrid separating the various fi elds;- the LIGHT confi guration maximizes thesize of the displayed data by focusingon only the absolutely necessaryinformation;- the FULL confi guration maximizes theamount of information displayed.Galileo also has a gauge mode, with acorresponding GAUGE confi guration,in which the computer acts as a digitaldepth gauge and does not perform anydecompression calculation. NOTE:The LIGHT confi guration does notsupport dives with MB level stops, decompression stops or multi gas.In these cases Galileo automaticallyswitches to the CLASSIC confi guration. For all three confi gurations and in gaugemode it is possible to call up the digitalcompass at any time during the dive. It isalso possible to rotate the entire screen by180 degrees, so that the computer can beworn with the buttons on the top or on thebottom.12
