TAKING CAREOF GALILEO5.1 Technical informationOperating altitude: with decompression – sea level toapproximately 4000m/13300ft without decompression (gaugemode) – at any altitudeMax operating depth: 330.5m/1084ft;resolution is 0.1m until 99.9m and 1m atdepth deeper than 100m. Resolution inft is always 1ft. Accuracy is within 2%±0.2m/1ft.Decompression calculation range: 0.8mto 120mMaximum environment pressure: 34barSmart Transmitter maximum workingpressure: 300bar/4350psiDigital compass:- resolution: 1°- accuracy: +/– 1° + 5% of tilt angle(example: at 50° tilt, accuracy is +/–3.5°)- tilt angle: up to 80°- refresh rate: 1sClock: quartz clock, time, date, dive timedisplay up to 999 minutesOxygen concentration: adjustablebetween 21% and 100%Operating temperature: -10°C to+50°C / 14°F to 122°FPower supply:- Galileo: CR12600SE or CR2NP- High Pressure Transmitter: CR2450- Polar T31 Coded Transmitter: notuser replaceableLife of the battery:- Galileo: 3-5 years or 300-500dives.Actual battery life depends on thenumber of dives per year, the lengthof each dive, the water temperatureand the usage of digital compass andbacklight.- High Pressure Transmitter: 3 yearsor 150-200 dives. Actual battery lifedepends on the number of dives peryear, the length of each dive and thewater temperature.- Polar T31 Coded Transmitter:2500 hours of use. The transmitter isactivated by moisture, so leaving it ona wet towel for instance will consumebattery power. If you suspect that thebattery has run out, please contact anauthorized Polar Service Center for areplacement transmitter. Polar recyclesused transmitters.5.2 MaintenanceThe tank pressure gauge and the parts ofthis product used to measure tank pressureshould be serviced by an authorizedSCUBAPRO UWATEC dealer every otheryear or after 200 dives (whichever comesfi rst). In addition, the depth accuracyshould be verifi ed every two years. Asidefrom that, Galileo is virtually maintenancefree. All you need to do is rinse it carefullywith fresh water after each dive and changethe battery when needed. To avoid possibleproblems with your Galileo, the followingrecommendations will help assure years oftrouble free service:- avoid dropping or jarring your Galileo- do not expose Galileo to intense, directsunlight- do not store Galileo in a sealedcontainer, always ensure free ventilation. If there are problems with the watercontacts, use soapy water to clean Galileoand dry it thoroughly.
