Installation Management Campaign Planand increase awareness of safety issues, and in turn you will prevent accidents andinjuries. Safety campaigns and stand-downs are effective safety promotion methods.Other alternative methods of communication should include safety checklists, bulletins,newsletters, posters and notices, newspapers, and talks and discussions with theworkforce. More effective communication can be achieved if a combination of these isused rather than adopting one method in isolation. Using technology such asFacebook, Twitter, Flickr and other public communication outlets will ensure quick andwide dissemination of safety messages to individuals in the bowels of the organizationand can act on the information.Metrics: % of Garrisons Completing the <strong>Army</strong> Readiness Assessment Program (ARAP)and Initiating Action Plans. % of Garrisons that have conducted at least one Safety Stand-down per year.Sub-tasks:SF2-1: Conduct seasonal safety campaigns to achieve a safety mindset.SF2-2: Conduct installation-level safety and occupational health advisory councilsand/or community risk reduction councils.SF2-3: Participate in the <strong>Army</strong> Readiness Assessment Program (ARAP) and developaction plan to address program weaknesses.SF3 Employ Hazard Control Measures to Foster a Safe Working and LivingEnvironmentGoal: As a condition of employment,commanders and leaders will ensure everymilitary and civilian employee is familiar withsafety standards applicable to their work.Supervisors will use the results from the jobhazard analysis to eliminate hazards inworkplaces. The analysis is a valuable toolfor training new employees in the stepsrequired to perform their jobs safely, and canbe used to establish standards forperformance evaluations. Use Composite Risk Management (CRM) to enhancepersonnel understanding of safe practices and instill a greater awareness of hazardidentification and accident avoidance.Metrics: % change in DoD Civilian & Soldier Class A-C Injuries & Illnesses.Are We Doing The Right Things?
