Installation Management Campaign Planannual training to the fifty-six Directors of Religious Education who superviseapproximately 64,000 volunteers in Garrison chapel programs each year. All thiscontributes to the IMCOM UMT’s mission of enhancing Spiritual Fitness by providingvital ministry and building resiliency for 562,400 Soldiers, their Family members, andDOD Civilians on IMCOM installations worldwide.WorshipAs an essential building block to spiritual fitness and readiness, the Garrison UMTprovides extensive opportunities for our Soldiers and Family members to participate inworship. Worship enables Soldiers and Families to find direction, purpose andsignificance in life while embracing the values and practicing the disciplines thatestablish and maintain resiliency. Collective and individual worship providesopportunities to develop and deepen a spiritual understanding of human existence andpromotes a sense of belonging to a caring community. This foundation instillsconfidence, strengthens relationships and fosters healthy attitudes. Military chapels andreligious support facilities are the primary platforms to launch religious support activitieswhich include a variety of worship forms practiced by many faith groups. Criticalelements of worship include, but are not limited to:Sacred rites and ordinancesPrayer and meditationMusicSermons and exposition of scripturesFellowshipTithes and OfferingsPrograms and events providing inspiration for spiritual maturityEach Garrison UMT provides worship experiences that support Soldiers and Familieson every installation and through all phases of the <strong>Army</strong> Force Generation Model(ARFORGEN). Worship services afford opportunities for stewardship and service insupport of religious programs. Worshipping congregations provided well over$23,000,000 in offerings through <strong>Army</strong> chapels that were distributed to a broad range ofservices benefiting the <strong>Army</strong> Family as an expression of worship and honor to God.Pastoral CareThe UMT offers extensive pastoral care to our Soldiers, Family Members and theCivilians who serve with them. This support is crucial, for in today’s <strong>Army</strong>, Soldiers andtheir Families find themselves under extreme and ongoing stress. General GeorgeCasey notes:. . . the stress on Soldiers and Families has had an impact across the force. Yetour Values remain non-negotiable.
