4-72 Chapter 4: Hardware ServicePower SupplyThe power supply provides power to the <strong>7453</strong> workstation, as well asvarious retail peripherals. The power supply is controlled by a logicon/off switch, permitting it to be disabled through software. An ACoutlet without a switch is provided at the rear of the power supply forAC power to a CRT.The power supply has the following outputs:Voltage +5V +12V -12V -5V +24V +5V +24VMax. Chapter 4: Hardware Service 4-73As shown in the block diagram, +24V is available from the powersupply through an additional harness, which also contains +5V, +12Vand -12V. This harness plugs into the Auxiliary Power Board thatdistributes these voltages to the printer and auxiliary power connectorslocated on the back panel of the workstation. This provides power for avariety of retail peripherals (2x20 displays, EFT devices, scanners, writecapture, etc.) from the workstation. This eliminates external brickpower supplies and simplifies cable routing.
