Chapter 4: Hardware Service 4-43Dual Port RS-232 Board (<strong>Old</strong> Style)The Dual Port RS-232 Board provides two additional industry standardRS-232 ports. The board occupies an ISA slot and requires two IRQsand a corresponding I/O address space. COM port assignments aremade by way of hardware jumpers on the board.IRQJP1*JP2* JP1 is not usedJP3AddressJP4JP5COMACOMBNote: The settings shown aboveand below are the default settings.These settings would strapCOMA as COM4 , and COMB as COM3 .JP6The following chart is meant to show you how to interpret the possible strapping options using the defaultsettings as examples . When setting the IRQ for COM A, use the three left columns of pins (JP2). Whensetting the IRQ for COM B, use the three right columns of pins (JP3). Notice that the higher IRQ numbersare different for COM A and COM B.
