Chapter 3: Troubleshooting 3-7System Reboots When Plug & Play Config.Mgr Is Loaded HighPower-On Light Is Not LitIf dwcfgmgr.sys is loaded high [depending on the processor installed onthe Motherboard], the system may reboot. This occurs when theNOEMS option is specified for emm386.exe. Check the emm386.exe linein the config.sys file and if this option is present, remove the option. This option may be replaced by RAM or AUTO if there is a need toreduce the amount of EMS being reserved by emm386.exe in the system. With the RAM option, the amount can be reduced to as little as 64K ifthe user so specifies. dwcfgmgr.sys should load before himem.sys, whichwill prevent it from being included in any MEMMAKER optimization.Unless altered, dwcfgmgr.sys will load in low memory on the basesoftware load.If the workstation is operating normally, check the connector betweenthe system board and the front panel. If OK, it is possible that the lightmay be defective. If the workstation is not operating normally, refer tothe "External/Internal Power Check Flowchart."Workstation Requires a Power-On PasswordIf the workstation has a power-on password installed, it will not runPower-On Self-Test (POST) or boot until the correct password isentered.
