inactive side:Use of the Appliance5active side:13 Image plateImage plates are toxic: for thisreason image plates must be placedin a light protection cover beforeplacing into the mouth of a patient.In the case of a patient swallowingan image plate or a part of one thena doctor must be consulted immediatelyand the image plate removed.If a patient damages a light protectioncover when biting on it, then themouth must be rinsed out thoroughlywith copious amounts of water.EN13.1 GeneralVistaScan should only be used in combinationwith PLUS image plates from Dürr Dental. Theuse of image plates from other manufacturerscould result in poorer image quality.Exposure of the image plate must always becarried out on the active side:active side:• the active side is light blue. This side is alsomarked with a positioning guide.inactive side:• the inactive side is black. This is printed withthe size, manufacturer´s information and theword "Back". Furthermore, the inactive sideis surrounded by a silver edge which makespositioning together with the light protectioncover into the patient's mouth easier. In onecorner there is a silver dot; this replaces theslight indentation found on conventional X-rayfilm. This dot should always be set in thedirection of the occlusal plane. This allowseasier orientation of the X-ray exposure. 19
