Aigul Absametova. “Integration Processes in the Electric PowerSectors of the EDB Member States”Advanced Economic Cooperationin Sectors and IndustriesConclusionOverall, during the period under review, the electric power sectors of the EDBmember states have demonstrated stable growth in generating capacity, whichwas maintained even in the crisis year.Fossil-fuelled TPPs dominate the structure of generating capacity and thisremained practically unchanged during the period studied. Hydropower is themain generator in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Electricity generation in thesecountries varies year by year because of stochastic flow of water into the plants’reservoirs.Electricity exports and imports between the EDB member states decreasedsignificantly and consistently over the period analysed. The electric power sector is a driver of integration processes in related industriesand sectors. Given its extensive infrastructural role for production industries andsociety it remains a leading sector in the EDB economies and the post-Sovietspace as a whole.References24.kg (2011) A Working Group Is Created in Kyrgyzstan to Implement the Projectto Construct Kambarata Hydropower Plant 1.
