Executive Education
In 2010 the 14th class of the Executive
Master of Business Engineering
started. The interdisciplinary study
program develops competencies for
the systematic (model and method
based) planning and implementa-
tion of large transformation
projects. On successful attendance,
an “Executive MBA”
degree of the University of St.
Gallen is awarded. The programme
includes two modules
that are conducted in cooperation
with the Leavey School of
Business at the University of
Santa Clara, California, and
with the Jiao Tong University in
Shanghai.
The diploma programme IT
Business Management HSG
aims at developing business
and leadership competencies
for IT professionals with
a technical background. The
third class of ITBM started in
October 2010.
Events
The International Conference on Design
Science Research in Information
Systems and Technology (DESRIST)
is a premier conference for designoriented
research in Information Systems.
Becoming a truly global conference
series, DESRIST was held in St.
Gallen, Switzerland in 2010. DESRIST
2010 brought together ca. 100 design
researchers from all over the world to
provide global perspectives on both
Design Science and Design Research
through 35 accepted full papers, 10
short papers, 4 panels, 3 workshops,
and 3 keynotes.
In 2010, the “Value Chain Forum”
was replaced by the “Business Engineering
Forum”. Its specialty is the
interactive workshop format across
various fields of BE.
The event series “Anwenderforum
St. Gallen” (three p.a., forum.iwi.
unisg.ch), as well as the bi-annual
“DW/EA” conference series were
also continued in 2010. They serve
as networking and discussion platforms
that bring together practitioners
and academics.
