On theother hand, persons in FR were asked about theirage stopped working or “expected” retirement age.For those 1 064 100 persons in CR who had everworked, the majority of them were retired /stopped working at the age of 50 and over(87.6%). Regarding those 2 699 200 persons inFR who had ever worked or were employed at thetime of enumeration, nearly 30% (28.9%) citedthat they stopped working or expected to retire atthe age of 50 - 64 and another 11.4% at the age of65 and over. Meanwhile, 31.2% indicated thatthey “would work until unable to work anymore”and 16.2% indicated “depended on situation /never think about it before / did not know”.(Table 9.4)Type of retirement protection schemes9.14 It was estimated that there were a totalof 3 763 400 persons aged 35 and over who hadever worked or were employed at the time ofsurvey. Those persons were asked whether theirprevious / current jobs provided retirementprotection scheme and the type of scheme (if any).When compared with CR (33.6%), a significantlyhigher proportion of FR (79.2%) cited that theyhad retirement protection from work.
