Appendix A9 The social rented sectorAppendix A9 The social rented sectorA9.1 IntroductionThe survey estimates that there are 24,674 households living within the social rented sector, ofwhich 12,197 live in council accommodation and 12,477 within RSL accommodation. Thisappendix briefly examines the characteristics of these households in terms of their housingcircumstances and ability to afford.A9.2 Dwelling characteristicsThe table below shows the types of accommodation social rented households reside in.
