Matt is survived by his three children agedbetween 9 – 13 years.A service to celebrate the life of Matt was held at Kerikeri on 9 September <strong>2009</strong> anda number of NRC staff attended.Matt had completed five years service having commenced employment on16 February 2004. Prior to this Matt worked as a self employed Consultant <strong>for</strong> theFar North District <strong>Council</strong>. Matt had a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) – 1 st ClassHonours.Matt was an experienced and valued member of staff and in addition to hisenvironmental monitoring role which included en<strong>for</strong>cement, he was also a trainedapproved Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Officer and trained inOil Spill Response.Matt will be missed.
