7. To make a skid, join two <strong>to</strong>othpicks end <strong>to</strong> endand side by side so the overall length is 4.3inches (11 centimeters). When the glue is dry,cut them <strong>to</strong> a length of 3.5 inches (9 centimeters)and then glue the cu<strong>to</strong>ff end back onat a 90-degree angle as shown. Repeat theprocess for the second skid.7.8. Turn the wing assembly upside down andglue the skids on either side of the openingin the lower wing. <strong>The</strong> skids should overlapthe front and middle <strong>to</strong>othpicks that join thewing halves and should extend out beyondthe front (curved edge) of the lower wing.8.9.
