Risk ManagementMScCourse overviewRisk management has developedover the last 20 years both as anacademic discipline and profession. Itis relevant to all aspects of industry,commerce, consultancy and thepublic sector and is of importanceto those with a variety of careeraspirations or backgrounds, suchas accountants, project managers,insurers, chartered surveyors,health care professionals, lawyers,bankers, auditors, health and safetyprofessionals, and engineers.This course is designed to appealto a broad risk management bodyand recognises the inter-disciplinarynature of the subject.There is an increased recognitionthat risk needs to be managedand not simply avoided, which hasa major impact on organisationalstrategy. In turn, this is accompaniedby increased risk regulation whichhas created a dynamic employmentmarket for those managers with thenecessary qualifications, trainingand skills.You may also make progress withprofessional qualifications, as thecourse attracts exemptions fromthe Institute of Risk Management(irm) exams.
