Risk ManagementMScCourse overviewRisk management has developedover <strong>the</strong> last 20 years both as anacademic discipl<strong>in</strong>e and profession. Itis relevant to all aspects of <strong>in</strong>dustry,commerce, consultancy and <strong>the</strong>public sector and is of importanceto those with a variety of careeraspirations or backgrounds, suchas accountants, project managers,<strong>in</strong>surers, chartered surveyors,health care professionals, lawyers,bankers, auditors, health and safetyprofessionals, and eng<strong>in</strong>eers.This course is designed to appealto a broad risk management bodyand recognises <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ter-discipl<strong>in</strong>arynature of <strong>the</strong> subject.There is an <strong>in</strong>creased recognitionthat risk needs to be managedand not simply avoided, which hasa major impact on organisationalstrategy.
