Thecourse is aimed at recent graduates,teachers and practitioners who enjoya broad and varied approachto learn<strong>in</strong>g.Course modulesThe course is made up of four taughtmodules (offered discretely but withconnect<strong>in</strong>g po<strong>in</strong>ts of reference) and<strong>the</strong> Research Project.Drama and Representationdevelops your awareness of <strong>the</strong>relationship between dramatictexts and philosophical and<strong>the</strong>oretical materials. The coursewill lead you to situate criticalresponses to <strong>the</strong> representationof places and characters with<strong>in</strong> abroader <strong>the</strong>oretical contextresearch <strong>in</strong>to drama, emphasis<strong>in</strong>g<strong>the</strong> development of <strong>the</strong> criticallyconscious researcherThe Research Project enablesyou to undertake <strong>in</strong>dependentstudy <strong>in</strong> an area directly relatedto <strong>the</strong> course. Research can beundertaken practically as wellas through a written project.This module is primarily throughself-directed study although itis supported by workshops and<strong>in</strong>dividual tutorialsTeach<strong>in</strong>g and asseSSMentYou will be taught through sem<strong>in</strong>arsand practical studio workshops.Sem<strong>in</strong>ars normally last two hours andtake place <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Clephan Build<strong>in</strong>g.These sessions may <strong>in</strong>clude lectures,group discussions and read<strong>in</strong>gsalongside staff and student-leddebates. Workshops usually runfor three hours <strong>in</strong> one of <strong>the</strong> studiospaces on campus and <strong>in</strong>cludepractical exercises and projectsplus staff-led classes.
