Themodule will cover the influenceof drugs on the immune systemand with the principles andtechniques of immunostimulation,immunosuppression andimmunoprophylaxisAdvanced Histopathologyand Cytopathology will providea thorough grounding in currentlaboratory technique and theory,and diagnostic interpretationin cellular pathology. This willinclude the Human Tissue Actand specimen collection, healthand safety fixation andantigen retrievalYou will study your chosenspecialism at an advanced level,through selecting your optionalmodules. In the final year youwill carry out a research project(dissertation) in one of ourlaboratories or in your nhslaboratory (if you are an existingpractitioner). This will enable youto choose and research a particulartopic in-depth. Following thesubmission of the dissertationthere will be an oral presentationand questions.Teaching and AsseSSmentTeaching will normally be deliveredthough formal lectures, moreinformal seminars, tutorials,workshops, discussions ande-learning packages.Assessment will be via essays,presentations, seen exams,poster presentations, plus afinal dissertation.International students come tostudy in the UK because the qualityof our teaching is among the bestin the world.
