By comparing the Tgs at different loadings, INM showed a plasticization effect forSoluplus. By analyzing the thermograms of the INM/S630 extrudates (Fig. 2.5d) it wasconcluded that INM was also molecularly dispersed in the carrier due to the single Tg at 56.57 o Cand the absence of the drug melting endotherm.Fig. 2.5d: DSC thermograms of INM and FMT with Plasdone S630 (physical mixtures andextrudates).Further evaluation of the DSC thermograms for the FMT – polymer extrudates confirmedthe existence of glassy solid solutions for all formulations. The Tgs ofFMT/SOL at 20% and 40% loadings were detected at 49.55 o C and 48.54 o C respectivelysuggesting plasticization effect of FMT.
