It did not work. Now the illness hasrecurred. Further treatment could prolong life, but itcannot cure the disease.The more I think about it, the more I feel like opting forno further treatment. It is a most unpleasant experience,and everything in me balks at the idea of going throughit again. Also, I can’t quite face losing my hair a secondtime. It is a small point, I know, but a needy one.In other words, I would like to just live one day at atime. I know if I hold on to Jesus, he will walk throughthis valley of shadows with me. After all, he’s been therehimself! I truly believe the words of Job, “I know that myRedeemer liveth…and though worms destroy this body,yet in my flesh shall I see God.”8
