Buthe was also – paradoxical as it sounds – experiencingthe healing that had evaded him for so long.Inwardly, Zach was undergoing an unmistakablechange. He became less self-conscious, he reached outmore to other people; he mellowed and deepened. Mostremarkable for this once confident, argumentativetwenty-something, he began to reflect the childlikespirit Jesus says each of us must find if we are to enterthe kingdom of God.Zach’s transformation did not come easily, or withouta price.
