Water Quality oftributary stream DhansiriThe water qualityof River Dhansiri is conforming to water quality criteria withrespect to pH. BOD is observed in the range of 0.4 to 6.8 mg/l. BOD is notmeeting the desired criteria inRiver Dhansiri at Nuton Basti, (6.8mg/l) and Townboundary bridge, Diphu Road (5.6 mg/l), Nagaland, and Dhansiri at NagalandAssamBorder, Dimapur (3.6 mg/l). DO ranges from 0.2 to 7.6 mg/l. RiverDhansiri is not meeting the criteria limit for DO except Dhansirii at Golaghat(5.8mg/l),Assam. Total Coliform(TC) andFaecal Coliform count is meetingthecriteria limit. Thewater quality of Dhansiri and its tributary streams is presentedin Annexure-I Table 6.2.6.2.2. WaterQuality of tributary streams Subansiri, Kharsang, Burhidihing,Pagldia, Digboi,Jai Bharali, Kolong, Manas, Disang, Jhanji,Bhogdoi, MoraBharali, Borak, Bharalu, Deepar Bill & KathakalThe Water quality of other tributary streams Subansiri, Kharsang, Burhidihing,Pagldia, Digboi, Jai Bharali, Kolong, Manas, Disang, Jhanji, Bhogdoi, MoraBharali, Borak, Bharalu, Deepar Bill & Kathakal is meeting the desired criteriafor Conductivity,Faecal Coliform,Totalcoliform and DO whereas low value ofDO isobserved at River Deepar Bill, Assam (2.3mg/l) and Disang at Gundamghat,Assam(3.5mg/l) .79
BOD ranges from 0.3 to 50 mg/l/. The highest value of BOD (50 mg/l) isobserved in River Bharalu at Guwahati .BOD is not meeting the desired criteria atall the locations except river Subansiri at Gerekamukh, Pagldia river near Nalbaritown, dist. Nalbari, Jai Bharali River Near Biswanath Chara lI, Sonitpur, KolongRiver at Marigaon, Disang at Gundamghat, Assam. The Total Coliform countvaries from 0-320000 MPN/100 ml and not meeting the criteria at BhogdoI Riverat Jorhat, Bharalu River at Guwahati, Deepar Bill, Assam and Kaljani d/s ofAlipurdwar, municipality discharge point. The Faecal Coliform count varies from0 - 260000 MPN/100 ml and not meeting the criteria in river Bhogdoi at Jorhat,Bharalu river at Guwahati, Deepar Bill Assam and Kaljani d/s of Alipurdwar,municipality discharge point.
