The Total Coliformcount is observedin the range of 11-2400 MPN/100ml. The BOD is observed inthe range of 1.1-2.1 mg/l. InRiver Kharoon, a tributary of Seonath DO variesfrom 7.1 -8.7 mg/l and Conductivity ranges from 196-632 µmhos/cm. BOD isobserved in the range of 1.4-2.2 mg/l and Total Coliform count ranges from27-2400 MPN/100 ml.The tributary stream Hasdeoand Ib aremeeting the the desired water qualitycriteria in respect of all parameters except Total coliform count which isexceeding in River Ib at Brajrajnagar (Intake) D/s & Sundargarh (17000MPN/ /100 ml) andJharsugudaa (Intake) (6300 MPN/100 ml) in Orissa.The seven tributaries of Mahanadi i. .e Kuakhai,Kathajodi,Birupa, Daya,Sankha,Tel and Kelo are meeting the water quality criteria with respect topH,conductivity and Dissolved Oxygen (DO).The BODis observedin the range of0.7-6. 5 mg/l and is observed higher than the desired criteria in River Kathajodi atCuttakD/s (3.9 mg/l), River Kuakhai at Bhubaneshwar D/s (6.5mg/l) and RiverDaya at Bhubaneswar FD/s-2Km A/c Gangua Nallah (4.8 mg/ /l) in Orissa. TheTotal Coliform and Faecal Coliform are varying from28-160000 MPN/100ml and70- 160000 MPN/100ml respectively inthese tributaries. The higher value ofTotal Coliform and Faecal Coliform is observed in River Kathajodi at CuttakD/s(160000 & 160000 MPN/100ml), River Kuakhai at Bhubaneswar D/s (92000 &540000 MPN/100ml) & Bhubaneswar U/ /s (17000 & 11000 MPN/100ml), RiverSankha U/s ( D/sMandira Dam) (540000 & 24000 MPN/100ml), River Daya atBhubaneswar FD/ /s ( 2 Km A/ /c Gangua Nallah With River Daya) (54000 & 35000MPN/ /100ml) andRiver Birupa at Choudwar (17000 & 13000 MPN/100ml)respectively in Orissa.
