As seen in Example 4-1, in the Role column each Fibre Channel port is identified as either atarget or an initiator. Simply put, a target in a Remote Mirror configuration is the port that willbe receiving data from the other system, whereas an initiator is the port that will be doing thesending of data. In this example, there are three initiators configured. Initiators, by default, areconfigured on FC:X:4 (X is the module number). In this highlighted example, port 4 in module6 is configured as the initiator.Example 4-1 The fc_port_list output command>> fc_port_listComponent ID Status Currently Functioning WWPN Port ID Role1:FC_Port:4:1 OK yes 5001738000130140 00030A00 Target1:FC_Port:4:2 OK yes 5001738000130141 0075002E Target1:FC_Port:4:3 OK yes 5001738000130142 00750029 Target1:FC_Port:4:4 OK yes 5001738000130143 00750027 Initiator1:FC_Port:5:1 OK yes 5001738000130150 00611000 Target1:FC_Port:5:2 OK yes 5001738000130151 0075001F Target1:FC_Port:5:3 OK yes 5001738000130152 00021D00 Target1:FC_Port:5:4 OK yes 5001738000130153 00000000 Initiator1:FC_Port:6:1 OK yes 5001738000130160 00070A00 Target1:FC_Port:6:2 OK yes 5001738000130161 006D0713 Target1:FC_Port:6:3 OK yes 5001738000130162 00000000 Target1:FC_Port:6:4 OK yes 5001738000130163 0075002F Initiator1:FC_Port:9:1 OK yes 5001738000130190 00DDEE02 Target1:FC_Port:9:2 OK yes 5001738000130191 00FFFFFF Target1:FC_Port:9:3 OK yes 5001738000130192 00021700 Target1:FC_Port:9:4 OK yes 5001738000130193 00021600 Initiator1:FC_Port:8:1 OK yes 5001738000130180 00060219 Target1:FC_Port:8:2 OK yes 5001738000130181 00021C00 Target1:FC_Port:8:3 OK yes 5001738000130182 002D0027 Target1:FC_Port:8:4 OK yes 5001738000130183 002D0026 Initiator1:FC_Port:7:1 OK yes 5001738000130170 006B0F00 Target1:FC_Port:7:2 OK yes 5001738000130171 00681813 Target1:FC_Port:7:3 OK yes 5001738000130172 00021F00 Target1:FC_Port:7:4 OK>>yes 5001738000130173 00021E00 InitiatorThe iSCSI connections are shown in Example 4-2 using the command ipinterface_list.The output has been truncated to show just the iSCSI connections in which we are interestedhere.
