COASTAL RESOURCES<br />

Project Planning/Coordination<br />

Old Mill Boat Yard Pier Reconfiguration- Subsurface borings taken and being analyzed.<br />

Met with our consulting engineers, State Dept <strong>of</strong> Conservation and Recreation<br />

(Waterways) and Seaport Advisory representatives to review overall scope <strong>of</strong> project.<br />

Request for Seaport grant funding for construction to be prepared/submitted in March.<br />

Emergency repairs completed on existing holes at base <strong>of</strong> the bulkhead.<br />

<strong>Town</strong>-Wide Dredge permit- Chapt 91 permit nearing completion and Water Quality<br />

Certification is completed. Checking on status <strong>of</strong> Corps permit.<br />

Cotchpinicut and Cow Yard Landings Hazard Mitigation Grant Projects- Final project<br />

accounting records being developed. Projects have performed well during the recent<br />

winter storms although the bank stabilization portion was severely damaged at Cow<br />

Yard.<br />

Ryder’s Cove/Marconi Park- No further action at this time pending possible initiation <strong>of</strong><br />

design efforts (if funding identified) to refine cost and design details.<br />

Ryder’s Cove Ramp- Evaluating whether repairs should be initiated given other priority<br />

needs for limited available funding.<br />

Mitchell River Bridge- Final Section 106 consulting parties meeting held on February 12,<br />

2013. Comments from BOS have been sent to FHWA. Continued coordination <strong>of</strong><br />

easements including appraisal efforts underway.<br />

Corps <strong>of</strong> Engineers Stage Harbor Dredge Disposal Study (Sect 204)- Draft analysis report<br />

<strong>of</strong> coastal processes and habitat benefits being reviewed by the Corps internally.<br />

Mill Creek/South <strong>Chatham</strong> Beach Nourishment- Still awaiting approval <strong>of</strong> the private<br />

permits for placement <strong>of</strong> sand along beaches in South <strong>Chatham</strong>. Project likely to be<br />

rescheduled for the fall <strong>of</strong> 2013.<br />

Battlefield Landing and road- Engineer finalizing draft design alternatives to address<br />

drainage issues, road layout improvements and dinghy storage.<br />

South Coastal Harbor Plan Committee- Draft update plan nearing completion.<br />

Linnell Lane Nourishment- No movement from private interests regarding the<br />

modification <strong>of</strong> their standing permits for nourishment along their beaches.<br />
