THE C295 FLIES TO LATIN AMERICA AND THE
MIDDLE EAST
AIRBUS DEFENCE & SPACE HAS LAUNCHED A CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE ITS C295 MILITARY
TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT, WITH THE AIM OF INCREASING SALES IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE MIDDLE
EAST. THE COMPANY STRATEGY FOR THE COMING YEARS WILL FOCUS ON OFFERING VERSIONS OF
C295 INCORPORATING MORE FUNCTIONALITY AND ADAPT TO MARKET NEEDS.
Airbus Defence & Space has focused the attention of
its C295 exports campaign on two of the world’s leading
emerging markets: Latin America and the Middle
East. Two geographical areas in economic growth, but
there is also a particular fact to take into account. The
armed forces of several countries need to increase
its military transport units due to the conflicts raised
in recent years. Especially in the case of the Middle
East, where the situation in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq
is driving an increase in general safety in neighboring
countries.
Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Oman are three of the main
customers of the C295 in the Persian Gulf, with some
units ordered. However, its largest customer and operator
is the Egyptian Air Force, which already has 17 units
of 24 ordered to Airbus.
The goal of the European manufacturer is to add
new sales. To promote this plan, Airbus DS participated
last November at the Dubai Airshow and presented the
C295 to military authorities; the company held B2B
meetings too, in order to close new orders.
