than 600 users and managing nearly one million transactions

HéliceNet, used under the name of COMPASS by Airbus
DS, was an innovative communication system ready to
improve the relationship between the big European manufacturer
and its supply chain. Now, AERONET takes
a step further, since it is a tool designed to solve the
complexity of the supply chain but between Tier 1 and
Tier 2, and also with auxiliary companies, which are the
vast majority in the sector.
“AERONET is an application platform for any subcontractor
of the aerospace supply chain. It is a better version
of HéliceNet, which already is a global portal for
excellence in supply chain management. AERONET has
been developed under a similar concept, but designed
with currently technology, resulting in a different tool,
very powerful, friendly and especially focused on the relationship
between management systems (ERP) of Tier 1
or Tier 2 and its subcontractors”, Arturo de Vicente says.
Launched with Alestis
AERONET began operating last November in Alestis
Aerospace, a company that has become the launching
customer of the platform, under the name of ASIC
(Alestis Suppliers’ Information Center).
The launch of this service has been carried out after a
year of hard work by HÉLICE, which agreed with Alestis
the platform development and its selection as a launching
customer. The Spanish leading Tier 1 has a high
degree of development in the sector, with a complex
supply chain comprising an important number of suppliers.
Airbus Defence & Space, LUCE Innovative Technologies
and Junta de Andalucía are other collaborators
of this initiative.
Most suppliers of Alestis Aerospace are already asking
for documentation to join this new portal, which will
be mandatory for all subcontractors of the Andalusian
company from 1 March 2016. To be part of it is requested
to apply through HELICE Cluster website (www.helicecluster.com).
AERONET is available in Spanish and English, although
it is possible to adapt it in other languages, such as Chinese.
Alestis Aerospace is very interested in implementing
the platform in its subsidiary located in the Asian
country. Other companies of the aerospace industry are
interested in AERONET because of its significant advantages.
