AEROSPACE TRAINING SCHOOLS, A DIRECT
FLIGHT TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL
ONE OF THE MAIN GOALS OF THESE CENTERS IS TO INSERT YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE AEROSPACE
LABOUR MARKET THROUGH TRAINING IN MANY TECHNICAL FIELDS, OFTEN RELATED TO THE
ACTIVITIES IN FACTORIES. IT IS THE CASE OF ANDALUSIAN TRAINING CENTERS AS MD AEROESPACIAL
OR ENASA, WHICH HAVE BECOME TWO OF THE MAIN REFERENCES IN THIS FIELD.
The aviation sector in Andalusia counts on several training
schools aiming to prepare technical professionals for the
auxiliary industry. The main objective of these centers is to
insert many young and unemployed people in the aerospace
labour market, through training in technical specialties,
usually linked to factory activities. The growth in the
aviation industry in the last decade and the crisis in other
sectors, have also boosted a greater interest in this type of
training by professionals from other fields. What is more,
many specialized centers have arisen and nowadays are
leading the sector. This is the case of MD Aeroespacial or
ENASA, which have a significant level of recruitment and
employment of their students.
MD Aeroespacial was created in 2009 and initially dedicated
to the aeronautical supply. One year later began offering
its first courses, oriented to aerospace manufacturing
operator. Today these two areas are the business lines of
the company, although the training center has experienced
remarkable growth in recent years. Miguel Dominguez,
former employee of the Spanish Aircraft manufacturer
Construcciones Aeronáuticas SA (CASA) and Airbus
DS, founded the company and through its classrooms
more than 1,100 students have already studied. Currently,
MD Aeroespacial offers courses Aircraft Structures Assembly,
Aircraft Sealant Aplication, Quality Inspection and
Composites, but sometimes it also convenes Electrical
Manufacturing courses (wiring harnesses).
There is a combination of presence training, with practical
and theoretical classes held at its facilities in the
Industrial Estate Guadalquivir in Gelves (Sevilla), which
have recently been extended with a 500 square meters
plant. Also, each course includes a practical training
period in companies thanks to collaboration agreements
signed with firms of the auxiliary industry such
as Aerostructuras Sevilla, Aciturri, Airgrup, Inespasa,
UMI, GAZC, Aercal, Compasur, etc.
